One of the MOST fascinating podcasts around
I absolutely love this podcast - the host have incredible insight and experience in criminal profiling and they share their knowledge generously. I’m floored by some of the inferences they can draw from the most mundane things. Keep up the amazing work - seeing a new episode drop into my feed makes my day

One of My Top 3 in True Crime
As a forensic psychologist, I have a high standard for true crime podcasts. If I’m going to spend time outside of work listening to the details of a crime, it needs to be interesting and the hosts had better know what they’re doing. Boy am I glad the hosts of The Prosecutors recommended The Consult! This has become one of my top three true crime podcasts, hands down. I could listen to Julia and her colleagues discuss their approach to criminal investigations all day. This podcast is a rare opportunity to sit in on discussions between former FBI agents and profilers about their impressions of some really interesting cases. I hope for many, many more episodes in the future!

Perfect podcast
This is the type of true crime podcast I find interesting . It’s educational and it goes beyond just reading the facts . 95% of true crime podcast are just a Wikipedia reading of the facts . My only suggestion is to release 2 parters when both are ready / waiting a month for part 2 is kind of a drag .

Such fascinating content.
I am thoroughly enjoying this podcast. My only comment is Julia not allowing the other profilers enough air time. She has a tendency to interrupt and they are not often able to fully articulate their position.

Best One from real experience
This is one of the best podcasts of its genre. The host and friends have legitimate experience and the case studies are fascinating. Highly recommend this!

Love it
I found this through one of my favorite podcasts The Prosecutors-
I think it is fascinating listen to how real profilers work, and think about different cases. There is not a lot of banter back and fourth, about things other than what the subject is, which I appreciate (although I do listen to some that have that, I am not apposed to it, i think this is refreshing)
It reminds me of physiology and sociology classes I have taken and enjoyed - but with people who have actually worked in this field )

Amazing
This is such an amazingly educational podcast. The host and guests are the real deal former FBI profilers, not just some true crime enthusiasts or wannabes. I’ve learned so much from all of the episodes. This is truly my favorite podcast and I hope it’ll stick around and won’t abruptly end like the Unsolved Mysteries podcast (still not over how they pulled the rug out from listeners!)

Amazing insight from the experts
I am loving this podcast! I heard an interview with Julia on the “Strictly Stalking” podcast and knew I wanted to give it a listen—so glad I did! I’ve always been curious about the Jodi Huisentruit case and the episodes about the ransom letter in the JonBenet Ramsey case are fascinating. Keep up the great work!

Fascinating
There are a LOT of true crime podcasts out there, and many of them are solid, entertaining, and informative. But almost without exception, they lean HEAVILY into the sensationalist aspects of murder.
That’s where The Consult is different: this feels more like a seminar on criminal profiling, and I mean that in the best possible way. You get to see how the proverbial sausage gets made with the help of actual profilers and former profilers who quickly prove themselves to be sober, competent, thoughtful, and perhaps most importantly, able to admit when the theory is underdetermined by the evidence or even completely breaks down.
I am kind of amazed that this exists, but having listened to it, I’m just as amazed that it didn’t exist until now.

Julia Cowley and her team of profilers present one the most intelligent, interesting, and informative true-crime podcasts out there. No gimmicks- no intrusive music- just the facts- and profiles!
She has a delightful voice and personality. It’s clear she loves what she does- and that comes through in the quality of the discussion. Love this podcast!!

My new fave podcast
Learning so much. Thank you for spending the time to create and share this podcast. I’ve recognized some of my own patterns regarding safety and have started taking more safety measures around the security of my own home and family after listening to this and esp about victimology for each victim.

Wow, such a good show
Really, really smart. I hang on to their every word. Not a casual listening experience and not for the faint of heart as the show gets into dark case details. Show provides a high level of behavioral analysis, and from a neutral perspective. They do not emote and editorialize which I also appreciate.

Low key discussion
I appreciate the professionalism of this podcast. Very often a great podcast is destroyed by the creators when it becomes successful. The former agents provide information and their opinions without the inane banter that serves as a distraction on so many podcasts. My only complaint- we need more content!

I’m so happy that you’ve resumed this wonderful, informative podcast. The audio sounds much better too! One question about the JBR ransom note, didn’t the note make some mention of John having Southern roots? Since the crime didn’t take place in the south, does that suggest the killer had at least some personal knowledge of John, it wasn’t solely business-focused?
