This true crime podcast is as close as it gets to being in the room with the FBI's BAU.

Fascinating!
This podcast is fascinating because it brings together people who actually did the profiling for the FBI and you can hear them discuss what they looked at and how they approached various cases. The pacing is great and there is time for the listener to process how each case was solved. I listen to a lot of podcasts, and this is really one of the best. I wish I could give it more stars!!

My new favourite podcast!
I saw Julia on Jay‘s YouTube channel. She was so interesting and so insightful and so measured, I had to check out this podcast and I’m so happy that I did!

Excellent
It took me awhile to get used to the cadence of different voices but this quickly became one of my top favorite podcasts. favorite podcast.

My favourite podcast!
This podcast is amazing! My only complaint is that I wished that they would do an episode every week. It is so intriguing and educational as well if you’re into true crime, but also the fascinating science of profiling. Every single episode has been very interesting to me even if the subject at first didn’t pick my interest. I still would listen and end up completely absorbed in the podcast. Great podcast recommended 100%.

AMAZING podcast
One of the BEST podcasts out there, by far. I learn so much from every episode and love hearing Julia’s take on every case. Every episode is a must-listen. Highly recommend!

Super Interesting Great Telling
Excellent pod. I like the psychology and insight of the agents in terms of the victims and perpetrators. Love the hosts voice. Ver easy to listen to. Great Job.

The true crime gold standard
If you’re fascinated by the behavioral aspect of crime there is nothing better than this podcast. Cowley is a passionate expert, and her colleagues are equally impressive. The next best thing to being in the room of a consultation with local law enforcement. Hopefully Julia gets her own netflix show or something because it’s just too good.

Smart thoughtful analysis
I enjoy listening to the sober thoughtful process you take us through each time- I just wish they came out more frequently.

Refreshing
To find a thorough crime podcast hosted by people with real expertise.

Great stuff
Found you via Jerr-bears podcast which I love as well. I look forward to listening to more episodes. I think it’s the little details you and your guests provide about these cases that’s so entertaining for me personally. I’d love to hear from the BTK agents IF there were any involved. He did several things that were out of the ordinary of the “average” killer. Again, love the pod , keep up the good work!

Beautiful Minds
Love listening to BEAUTIFUL MINDS! Thank you all for your serve and continue to be of serve to our country. Our country is so lucky to have you! Picked up your podcast from Agent Jerri Williams show.

Very interesting cases.
Well done podcast.

Jodi Huisentruit - question
Did they clear whoever was running the self-defence classes? Seems like it could be someone who might meet a lot of the profile.

One of the MOST fascinating podcasts around
I absolutely love this podcast - the host have incredible insight and experience in criminal profiling and they share their knowledge generously. I’m floored by some of the inferences they can draw from the most mundane things. Keep up the amazing work - seeing a new episode drop into my feed makes my day

Love this podcast
The info is entertaining and the voices are great.

One of My Top 3 in True Crime
As a forensic psychologist, I have a high standard for true crime podcasts. If I’m going to spend time outside of work listening to the details of a crime, it needs to be interesting and the hosts had better know what they’re doing. Boy am I glad the hosts of The Prosecutors recommended The Consult! This has become one of my top three true crime podcasts, hands down. I could listen to Julia and her colleagues discuss their approach to criminal investigations all day. This podcast is a rare opportunity to sit in on discussions between former FBI agents and profilers about their impressions of some really interesting cases. I hope for many, many more episodes in the future!

TAM
So informative!!!

So informative
Love the show!!! Can't wait to see what yall analyze next

Perfect podcast
This is the type of true crime podcast I find interesting . It’s educational and it goes beyond just reading the facts . 95% of true crime podcast are just a Wikipedia reading of the facts . My only suggestion is to release 2 parters when both are ready / waiting a month for part 2 is kind of a drag .

Such fascinating content.
I am thoroughly enjoying this podcast. My only comment is Julia not allowing the other profilers enough air time. She has a tendency to interrupt and they are not often able to fully articulate their position.

Best One from real experience
This is one of the best podcasts of its genre. The host and friends have legitimate experience and the case studies are fascinating. Highly recommend this!

Love it
I found this through one of my favorite podcasts The Prosecutors- I think it is fascinating listen to how real profilers work, and think about different cases. There is not a lot of banter back and fourth, about things other than what the subject is, which I appreciate (although I do listen to some that have that, I am not apposed to it, i think this is refreshing) It reminds me of physiology and sociology classes I have taken and enjoyed - but with people who have actually worked in this field )

Love it
Please do more. I’d love to hear your take on Michael Peterson, the zodiac and more!

Amazing
This is such an amazingly educational podcast. The host and guests are the real deal former FBI profilers, not just some true crime enthusiasts or wannabes. I’ve learned so much from all of the episodes. This is truly my favorite podcast and I hope it’ll stick around and won’t abruptly end like the Unsolved Mysteries podcast (still not over how they pulled the rug out from listeners!)

Amazing insight from the experts
I am loving this podcast! I heard an interview with Julia on the “Strictly Stalking” podcast and knew I wanted to give it a listen—so glad I did! I’ve always been curious about the Jodi Huisentruit case and the episodes about the ransom letter in the JonBenet Ramsey case are fascinating. Keep up the great work!

Fascinating
There are a LOT of true crime podcasts out there, and many of them are solid, entertaining, and informative. But almost without exception, they lean HEAVILY into the sensationalist aspects of murder. That’s where The Consult is different: this feels more like a seminar on criminal profiling, and I mean that in the best possible way. You get to see how the proverbial sausage gets made with the help of actual profilers and former profilers who quickly prove themselves to be sober, competent, thoughtful, and perhaps most importantly, able to admit when the theory is underdetermined by the evidence or even completely breaks down. I am kind of amazed that this exists, but having listened to it, I’m just as amazed that it didn’t exist until now.

New favorite
Love your podcast.

Terrific!
Julia Cowley and her team of profilers present one the most intelligent, interesting, and informative true-crime podcasts out there. No gimmicks- no intrusive music- just the facts- and profiles! She has a delightful voice and personality. It’s clear she loves what she does- and that comes through in the quality of the discussion. Love this podcast!!

Top favorite podcast ever!
I could listen to these professionals discuss cases all day. Extremely well done!!

My new fave podcast
Learning so much. Thank you for spending the time to create and share this podcast. I’ve recognized some of my own patterns regarding safety and have started taking more safety measures around the security of my own home and family after listening to this and esp about victimology for each victim.
